North Texas Relocation Professionals Scholarship

NTRP

North Texas Relocation Professionals is a non-profit organization that brings together corporations and relocation service providers in Dallas/Fort Worth for the primary purpose of providing educational information and current industry updates to its members.  As part of our commitment to Relocation, NTRP has developed a scholarship program for current high school seniors who have relocated into the Dallas/Fort Worth area sometime between grades 9 (after 8th grade graduation) and 12.  Scholarship awards will be presented to a minimum of two Dallas/Fort Worth area high school seniors this year (Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties). The award will be sent to the college that the student will be attending to assist with tuition. The exact amount and division of the awards will be determined by the judges.

NTRP will select scholarship winners based on the strength of their total package.  The student will be evaluated on academic performance, extra-curricular activities, and on their response to an essay addressing the challenges associated with relocating to a new area and a new high school.

Applicants must meet these requirements:

  • Currently a senior in good standing in a Dallas/Fort Worth area high school in the above-mentioned county.
  • Relocated between grades 9 and 12 (summer between 8th and 9th grade is acceptable).
  • Relocated more than 50 miles and changed schools due to their family's relocation
  • Currently have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 (or equivalent achievement on a different scale)

We must receive all applications by February 1, 2021 to have time to evaluate them and make a selection. Winners will be selected by March 15, 2021 and the scholarships will be awarded during our spring meeting in April/May 2021 (date TBD).

Counselors: Please make sure your students read and follow the directions listed on the following page and note that this year we do require you to submit an unweighted GPA. Rest assured we review the unofficial transcripts that you send, so we can see AP, honors classes, etc. There is no minimum to how many students can apply from each school. If the student transferred in between 8th and 9th grade, that is fine.

Students and Parents: Please follow the instructions exactly, and be sure to read the submission process very closely. We encourage you not to wait until the deadline to submit, especially as it may take you some time to make sure all 7 sections are scanned and saved into one document. *note- if the student ends up not needing the scholarship, the funds will be distributed to the other winners as the judges see fit. The award will only be paid to an accredited school.

We look forward to receiving your submissions!
